About this set

Manic Street Preachers is one of the most influential and iconic rock bands from Wales. The band was founded in Blackwood and has since released 14 studio albums and played festivals like Glastonbury, T in the Park, V Festival and Reading & Leeds. They have won eleven NME Awards, eight Q Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards and four BRIT Awards, and have also been nominated for the Mercury Prize and the MTV Europe Music Awards. Their first album ‘Generation Terrorists’, released in February 1992, was a hugely ambitious debut that established them as unique artists, combining classic rock riffs with the attitude of pop and punk, and rising above their contemporaries with their lyrics. Over the years they’ve gathered fans around the world, matured and shifted musically, but have always kept the classic Manics sound. In their live shows early songs like ‘You Love Us’ and ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’ sit effortlessly alongside major hits like the number-one single ‘If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next’ and other singles ‘You Stole The Sun From My Heart’ and ‘Design For Life’, alongside newer songs like ‘International Blue’ and ‘Orwellian’ (the latter from their most recent album ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’, which entered at number one on release in 2021).
