About this set
Rosie’s head is always full of the smallest details, but when it comes to music, everything seems to flow with ease. The Ghent-based band Rosie Stuart writes raw songs full of contrasts: 100 percent black-and-white, no room for grey. At the centre of the band is frontwoman and songwriter Rosie, whose restless creativity drives the project forward. Sometimes her voice conjures the fearless je-m’en-foutisme of her mother, a quality she carried with her as a member of the Kortrijk cult band Midnight Men. Others hear shades of Sinéad O’Connor, PJ Harvey or Patti Smith in Rosie’s striking vocals. Together with her band, Rosie Stuart doesn’t just confront the audience. They take on the walls around them, the world in general, and even themselves.
