Uffie, an American in Paris, never actually wanted to become a musician – she was fully occupied with modeling, fashion designing, and writing. A DJ ex-boyfriend persuaded her to sing on one of his tracks, and she was instantly hooked. In the meantime, Uffie, who has collaborated with Justice, Mr. Oizo, and many Ed Banger artists, is counted among the most well-known voices of the French electro scene: between synth-pop, nu-disco, acid house, and electroclash, there is always room for a new track about her hard life as a hedonistic party girl.
