Jembaa Groove are drumming up a storm with their hybrid sound. After seeking the right companions for their upcoming journey and stumbling on a few of Berlin’s finest musicians, they have finally formed a seven-piece band that combines jazzy sounds from Berlin’s underground music scene with traditional West-African sounds from Ghana and Mali. Highlife, Adowa, and Wassoulou meet the soulful rhythms and baritone chords of 70s Black America.
