About this set
When the chaotic South London group known as Fat Dog was formed, they made two rules: they’d be a healthy band who took good care of themselves, and there would be no saxophone in their music. Two simple rules to live by, and two things long since broken by the Brixton five-piece. Fat Dog is one of the most exciting breakout bands of recent years, with the kind of unhinged and wild live shows the capital hasn’t seen in years, and now the makers of WOOF., their brilliant and mind-expanding debut album, but they aren’t healthy. One of them has sweaty feet. And they have a saxophonist in the lineup. “Yeah, it’s all gone completely to shit,” says frontman and squadron leader Joe Love, real name Joe Love. The sound of Fat Dog is a thrilling mix of electro-punk, rock ‘n’ roll, techno, industrial-pop and rave euphoria, music to surrender to entirely, which Love describes as “music to scream into a pillow to”.
