Yasmine Hamdan first made waves in the music scene as co-founder of the pioneering Beirut indie-electronic duo Soapkills alongside Zeid Hamdan in the late 1990s. She later established herself as one of the most innovative and influential voices in contemporary Arabic music, gaining international recognition as a singer-songwriter, producer, and performer whose work seamlessly blends pan-Arab roots, poetic lyricism, electronica, soul, and guitar-driven melodies. Her distinctive voice reached wider audiences through her appearance in Jim Jarmusch’s acclaimed film Only Lovers Left Alive.
