Bonded by a shared love of sampling, beat-making and dub, the duo began collaborating naturally. Compilations from labels such as Sofrito, Analog Africa and Soundway opened their ears to the rich musical heritage of the tropics. Inspired by the likes of cumbia, afrobeat and soukous, they combined these influences with their production skills to create early releases, praised for their crossover sound, clubby yet rootsy.
