Looking at the world around you, how do you feel? What world(s) are you in? In this session, we dissect political feelings. First, we introduce some thoughts about emotional and affective dimensions of far-right and anti-democratic politics, revealing their nationalist, fascist and racist views and passions. Secondly, moving through feminist approaches to affect and emotion, we open the space for everyone to collectively reflect on their own political feelings in times of far-right political turns and therefore uncertainty. If right-wing extremists and conspiracy theorists are suddenly claiming to offer love and hope, how is that not only contributing to contested truths but how does it also shape the way we feel, act, and react as a democratic collective?
