- Workshop
Queer Futuring – Utopias of Care & Solidarity is a participatory workshop that uses the festival as a space to imagine new ways of living, caring, and resisting together. Based on ethnographic research with queer communities in West Germany, it explores how people create shared care and solidarity under precarious conditions, often in the gaps left by institutions and the state. The workshop connects care ethics, radical democracy, and queer theory in an accessible way. It asks what queer life can mean not only as identity, but as a set of relationships shaped by power, vulnerability, and mutual responsibility. Participants will move through short reflections, small-group conversations, and a collective mapping exercise to think about where care is shared, where it is missing, and where inequalities appear. The workshop also invites everyone to imagine a future in which care, solidarity, and joy are central rather than secondary.
