Based on Maria Alyokhina’s memoir, Pussy Riot delivers with Riot Days a feminist punk manifesto blending concert, rally, theatre and political protest. Their performance tells a story of resistance, oppression and revolution, reflecting on the group’s rebellious beginnings in 2011, their iconic performances, Alyokhina’s arrest, trial and imprisonment in a Siberian penal colony, and ultimately her spectacular escape. Riot Days is an important fiercely anarchic call to resistance in an increasingly right-wing populist and nationalist world.
