About this set

Drawing on the hypnotic vocal traditions of Western Uganda, Katokye improvises short poetic sentences, stringing them into long, haiku-like series to convey impressions of the land, the history of its people and its cherished longhorn cattle. Lead vocals are threaded and interwoven with the voices of the Banyankore ensemble, overlapping verse and lyrics into a continuous vocal flow and transforming the moment into a deeply meditative experience.
