The dance piece delves into bodily metamorphosis, driven by the vibrant rhythms of Malambo and the spirit of the gaucho-punk genre (referencing cyberpunk literature and Latin American narratives). In this funky blend of past and future, organic and artificial, the body mutates, redefining identity, gender, and representation. Malambo, the traditional dance of the Argentine gaucho, is based on footwork, choreographic percussion, and the use of boleadoras. Formerly performed exclusively by men, it embodies resistance and a connection to land. Led by Rocío Marano and in collaboration with dancers Libertad Iocco and Polina Sonis, our trio embodies a raw, punk energy, influenced by feminist, anti-colonial, and migrant perspectives. By integrating voice, rhythm, and ritual, we come back to the body as a way of knowledge, through joy and protest. language: english & spanish
