Nazi-era forced labour shaped the place we know as Fusion today, as well as its surrounds. Nearby, in Retzow-Rechlin, is the site of a satellite facility of the Ravensbrück women’s concentration camp. This forced-labour camp was active from 1940 to 1945. How can its legacy be kept alive today? How do we reconcile the violent memory of these crimes with Fusion as a place for parties, ecstasy, and “holiday communism”? Diana Groó, the granddaughter of Judith Varga-Hoffmann, a survivor of the camp, together with Angi Meyer from the Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück, will address these and further questions.
