Ariwo is a Cuban-Iranian quartet that focuses on the amazingly impressive interface between electronic and traditional music. The band brings together the Iranian electronic composer Pouya Ehsaei and three of London’s most influential Cuban musicians: the percussion virtuoso Hammadi Valdes, his brother, the lead trumpeter of Sierra Maestra Yelfris Valdes, and the godfather of London’s Cuban scene, Oreste Noda. And just like that, a rolling party is celebrated between cultural traditions and Western electronics.
