Brian Bamanya is the first person on the African continent to build DIY modular synth setups, hence his alias Afrorack. The 30-year-old engineering wizard started his music journey playing guitar and creating his own instruments, before diving into the world of modular synths. Bryan developed an extensive, experimental home-built modular synth set-up he’s been using to perform for the last two years. Expect dazzling, improvised live sets mixing African rhythms, techno, and acid house.
