About this set

What happens when we give the body permission to express what has been held inside? Visceral is an invitation to meet whatever is present in your body , including emotions and sensations that may have remained unfelt or unexpressed for a long time. Inspired by Japanese Butoh dance theatre, fascia release practices and intuitive movement, we will explore the body through movement, shaking, sound, expansion, contraction and free expression. Somewhere between a somatic release session, dance workshop and Butoh improvisation, this space is about expression rather than performance. What emerges might feel strange, raw, unconventional or unexpected , and that is welcome. No dance experience is needed. No need to perform or make anything beautiful. Just come as you are and meet what is already there.
